unoriginal ideas...

I understand that today's art scene is constantly referencing and in some ways ripping off the art world of yesteryear (there's no way around it). However, the artwork of London based artist D*Face is too much of a blatant duplication of the 50's and 60's Pop Art movement. If I want to look at appropriated and transposed comic strips, or juxtaposed images and figures of popular culture I'd much rather look at the work of Roy Lichtenstein and James Rosenquist. It just aggravates me that this artist is starting to gain worldwide fame, interviews with BBC and Juxtapoz, and worldwide respect in the art world for blatantly copying someone else.
