David Choe

This dude does art his way, doesn't care the slightest bit about consequences or opinions, and I have endless respect for that.

unoriginal ideas...

I understand that today's art scene is constantly referencing and in some ways ripping off the art world of yesteryear (there's no way around it). However, the artwork of London based artist D*Face is too much of a blatant duplication of the 50's and 60's Pop Art movement. If I want to look at appropriated and transposed comic strips, or juxtaposed images and figures of popular culture I'd much rather look at the work of Roy Lichtenstein and James Rosenquist. It just aggravates me that this artist is starting to gain worldwide fame, interviews with BBC and Juxtapoz, and worldwide respect in the art world for blatantly copying someone else.

Embrace the Martian...

Kid Cudi's video for his single Day N Nite just dropped yesterday. It's a solid video. Half of it is animated, which makes it really visually appealing.

New Brow

I'm scared to death to graduate from DePaul in June. I want to make my family proud and have them feel like their spending of thousands upon thousands of dollars was worth it. One can only hope for the best, but I fear that might not be enough. Here goes nothin...

For those of you into underground and street art:

Casual Encounter

So, I finally gave Kanye West's relatively new cd (808's and Heartbreak) a chance today.  As much as it pains me to say it, it's actually a fairly good record.  "Welcome to Hearbreak" is a sick song and the video for it just dropped.

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT...

Quote from a 30 year old dude outside evil olive last night:

"Hey man, I really like your plaid! The things you could do for my closet."

I didn't know whether to be flattered (because I was assuming he meant he liked my style) or creeped out. I chose to be creeped out because every time Mark and I turned around in the bar he was right there lurking us.

I'm so amped for the upcoming baseball season!!!!!
